Why you shouldn’t keep weighing yourself!

Are you someone who is prone to jumping on the scales every day? STOP!

We know it can be tempting to constantly check your weight when you are training hard and eating well, but the number on the scale is never a true reflection of how well you’re doing. It’s time to banish the scale!

WHY?

Constant weigh ins can be a source of stress and anxiety. While seeing the numbers go down can put you on cloud nine, if you see them creeping upwards it can make you crash back down to earth and lose your motivation.

Relying on the scale alone can cause you to lose sight of other ways that your body is changing. Healthy weight loss is often slow and steady, so sometimes you might be making progress but this is not shown on the scale.

Plus, there are many factors that can cause your weight to change every day. Hydration levels, sodium intake, digestive system, menstrual cycle and even the time you are weighing in can affect that number.

At MJF, we take regular measurements to help you keep track of your progress. This is the most accurate assessment to keep track of your progress and help you to feel more confident about the way that you look.

Making healthy and sustainable life changes is more important than the number you see on the scale or on the measuring tape. Setting specific lifestyle goals and working toward those goals will give you a much better sense of achievement than losing a few pounds.

Weight is but a number!
